A site plan usually shows a building footprint, travel ways, parking, drainage, and landscape elements. The earlier a property owner and/or building contractor can involve the landscape contractor, the more time and money can be saved in the construction and landscape process.
I work with several building contractors and they often make contact with me prior to breaking ground. I then visit job sites and assist in preparing for the landscape project. Materials such as topsoil can be harvested, boulders can be saved and used in the landscape, and trees can even be transplanted. Early contact and proper planning can assist the property owner in saving money and project completion so in the final stages of construction everything goes as well as possible.
